Meet The Chef
JAMAL RODRIGUEZ

Graduating from Le Cordon Bleu Miami in 2007 I began my culinary career at Ortanique on the Mile in Coral Gables under Chef Cindy Hudson. In 2008 I relocated to Tennessee and spent a year opening up the first scratch kitchen in Pidgeon Forge working under Chef Aaron Ward. In 2009 I began working for the company Barton G. I worked at both Prelude by Barton G and at Barton G the restaurant. After my first year I became a Sous Chef under Thomas Chan and also worked under Corporate Executive Chef Jeff O’Neil. Not only did I work at both Restaurants I would also work catering events for the company. In 2014 I signed on to work at the Biltmore Hotel under Executive Chef David Hackett. There I became the Banquet Sous Chef and soon after the the Banquet Chef. As the Banquet Chef of one of the most popular wedding destinations in South Florida it also allowed me to teach at the Culinary Academy that was on the property of the Biltmore Hotel. In late 2019 I moved to Maryland and took a position at the Gaylord National Harbor. I took over a restaurant by the name of National Pastime which was a 15 million dollar property. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 that has shut down and has yet to reopen. With all of the skills and knowledge I have gained over my Career, I am looking to create a unique dining experience over any occasion.
